Coins* Medals and Cohens

SATURDAY AFTERNOON

T here is no slander in an allowed fool though he do nothing but rail; nor no railing in a known discreet man though he do nothing but reprove. Shakespeare.

OFFICE OF

Geoffrey Charleton Adams,

NUMISMATIST

NEW YORK, U. S. A.

Cable Address) LAMA.

Dear Sir:

In the preface to my XI Auction Sale, I promised my large circle of Numismatic Friends and patrons, something choice in September, and after running through the pages of this cata- logue, I leave it to them whether I have kept my word or not. This collection of coins of every age, every country, every metal represents a lifetime of travel along Numismatic paths which many of us have traversed and some that we are only as yet slightly familiar with. But I think that you will agree with me that all these paths are more or less bordered with flowers, rich in color and rarity, and it is “up to 3*ou” to inspect, admire and cull. Special attention is called to Lots 6, 9, 12, 23, 26, 32, 66, 142a, 201, 206, 352, 364, 380, 419, 429, 450, 456, 472, 480, 488, 531, 638, 645, 654, 656, 701, 704.

It is seldom if ever that such rare and splendid specimens are offered at auction either here or abroad. In closing permit me say that other “feasts” are in store for you; not “Barmecide feasts” but real “viands” prepared in the most modern style of “culinary” art. You will receive your “invitations” in due time and the “banquets” will take place monthly as usual right up to Aug. 1905. I could let you take a peep at the different “menus” now but what’s the use, surprises are in store for you and so we will let it go at that. Thanking you in advance I have the honor to be.

Very truly yours
